Aramis Richardson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Odalis Zambrano having to interfere. Matias Jaramillo charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matias Jaramillo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The La Vega FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Quitasueño's Edwards Badía seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Edwards Badía the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Quitasueño protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Edwards Badía had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Juan Cabrero struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Alonso Villamayor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quitasueño. A collision led to La Vega FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Juan Dickson hit a great ball. Aramis Richardson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Odalis Zambrano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 0-4 became the score in the 78th minute when Pedro Brizuela elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Pedro Brizuela managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Vega FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Brizuela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Odalis Zambrano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 92 minutes into the match, Quitasueño's goal looked a bit too open when Aramis Richardson came free, but Odalis Zambrano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aramis Richardson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Pedro Brizuela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aramis Richardson in the 98th minute of play forced Quitasueño's goalkeeper Odalis Zambrano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. La Vega FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
