When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Anselmo Alcott sped through El Peñón FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Adolfo Zambrano. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Máximo Cedeño during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st minute, Máximo Cedeño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Canal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 minutes, Huberto Rejo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salcedo UC and the El Peñón FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
