Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Juan Luis Vega made the kick off and thus started the match. After a defensive mix-up in Garabito's zone, Yorkis Armijo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lázaro Peñalba came out of the goal and Yorkis Armijo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th minute, Norberto Ulloa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Robert Villarreal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Ulloa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robert Villarreal came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Garabito's Luis Sandóval. But to his dismay, Luis Sandóval quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Juan Luis Vega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Robert Villarreal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Alcott in the 27th minute of play forced Garabito's goalkeeper Lázaro Peñalba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 played minutes Salcedo UC got a freekick which was hit by Baltasar Pedraza. In the 32nd minute, Salcedo UC's Timothy Paré ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lázaro Peñalba. Lázaro Peñalba yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Tilson Caamaño kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Lázaro Peñalba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Timothy Paré in the 40th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yorkis Armijo got free with Lázaro Peñalba in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Anselmo Alcott made the kick off in the second half. Robert Villarreal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Norberto Ulloa in the 55th minute. Robert Villarreal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Luis Vega in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Norberto Ulloa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lázaro Peñalba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timothy Paré in the 73rd minute of play. After 77 minutes, Leoncio Vera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salcedo UC and the Garabito players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Salcedo UC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leoncio Vera to maneuver through the defense. After 78th play minutes Norberto Ulloa shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Robert Villarreal and just under the crossbar into goal. Lázaro Peñalba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timothy Paré in the 89th minute of play. After 92 played minutes Garabito got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Soto. Lázaro Peñalba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Timothy Paré went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
