To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Turnbull in the 35th minute of play forced SantiagoFc's goalkeeper Julio Patterson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Fierro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the match, SantiagoFc's goalkeeper Julio Patterson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Fierro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Turnbull in the 47th minute of play forced SantiagoFc's goalkeeper Julio Patterson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes, Celino Bravo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Llano and the SantiagoFc players grew even worse after the yellow card. The El Llano manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing SantiagoFc to win.
