Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Abel Santana made the kick off which started today's match. After having played for 3 minutes, Abel Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes de Bonao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Walter Márquez's late challenge caught a Guzmán's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Walter Márquez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th match minute, Estudiantes de Bonao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Márquez to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Santana in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucio Barragán saved Guzmán from getting behind. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Guzmán's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Walter Córdova was slow to take the kick. During this time Estudiantes de Bonao's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Walter Márquez heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The supporters of Guzmán booed when Estudiantes de Bonao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Medrano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute, Raimundo Peñalba made a precise shot to the right of Bernard Macedo. Estudiantes de Bonao's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When Ismael Solano fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guzmán's protests and gave Ismael Solano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, Guzmán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Ayala to maneuver through the defense. Matias Cuéllar kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Flavio Ayala hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de Bonao's goalkeeper Bernard Macedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raimundo Peñalba. 35 minutes into the game, Rob Nava was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudiantes de Bonao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guzmán the free kick. In the 35th minute, Rob Nava hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de Bonao's zone, Raimundo Peñalba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernard Macedo came out of the goal and Raimundo Peñalba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raimundo Peñalba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Bernard Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guido Ontiveros kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raimundo Peñalba to make the kick off. Abel Santana hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Abel Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Lucio Barragán made a huge save. When Abel Santana came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Estudiantes de Bonao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Santana couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Santana in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucio Barragán saved Guzmán from getting behind. Abel Santana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Baltasar Nava sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Estudiantes de Bonao's Bernard Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Peñalba in the 82nd minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Abel Santana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lucio Barragán. Guzmán's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abel Santana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Bernard Macedo came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Guzmán's Ismael Solano. But to his dismay, Ismael Solano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Estudiantes de Bonao's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Guzmán had won, even though Estudiantes de Bonao had held more of the ball.
