Roman Baibakov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabricio Alcott in the 33rd minute of play. In the 38th minute, Emiliano Valdez made a precise shot to the right of Roman Baibakov. Royal Caribbean's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Guayaubín's Clemente Clayton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervasio Medina in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gervasio Medina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Royal Caribbean's zone, Emiliano Valdez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Baibakov came out of the goal and Emiliano Valdez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Guayaubín getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Fabricio Alcott hit a great ball. With a little luck, Royal Caribbean's Roman Baibakov got control of the ball when Sil Alarcón tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hipólito Lemos kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Guayaubín's Emiliano Valdez shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 96th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Roman Baibakov but with some difficulty. Guayaubín's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
