Faouzi Cherrad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Franklin FC's Yazid Benyamina got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chadli Mimoun hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the game, Faouzi Cherrad lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Jean Firoud. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faouzi Cherrad stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A very good chance. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dearborn's goalkeeper Jean Firoud, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Faouzi Cherrad got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute, Yazid Benyamina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Franklin FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. If Mouloud Aboulker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. After 80 minutes, Abdelkader Oussar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dearborn and the Franklin FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
