To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Menad Meriem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from El Bahari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rachid Ahmed had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Menad Meriem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from El Bahari in the 44th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Muhammad Benaouf put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Redha Achiu. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
