When Ahmed Seghiri fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elwood's protests and gave Ahmed Seghiri a yellow card for diving instead. Mohammed Ahmed Ben Lacen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Madhi Assad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Elwood's goal looked a bit too open when Mourad Halimi came free, but Mustapha Bentifour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mustapha Bentifour didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karim Chadl went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Madhi Assad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohammed Ahmed Ben Lacen in the 43rd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

If Brahim Mecherara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. In the 63rdth minute of the game Abdelaziz Saci who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Elwood's Mustapha Bentifour was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. La Plata AFC's Madhi Assad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohammed Ahmed Ben Lacen in the 67th minute of play. With 69 minutes on the clock, Halim Kraouche commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in La Plata AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! In the 71st minute there was a penalty for Elwood. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Plata AFC's goalkeeper Madhi Assad, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Madhi Assad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mohammed Ahmed Ben Lacen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elwood were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of La Plata AFC for a fine match.
