The audience was convinced that Kasdi Daham's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ismaël Bitat was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Waterloo's Ismaël Bitat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasdi Daham in the 22nd minute of play. Ismaël Bitat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Madhi Larfaoui to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mohammed Boulmerka in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ismaël Bitat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Souad Saïd-Guerni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ali Morceli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Madhi Larfaoui in the 80th minute of the match. Abdelhamid Kourichi charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abdelhamid Kourichi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Mohammed Boulmerka came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Horizon City AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mohammed Boulmerka couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Horizon City AFC had won after a very even match.
