Hachemi Hadjadj's late challenge caught a Prestonsburg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lounès Bedjaoui's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Farid Hadjar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. When Djamel Aboulker came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Smyrna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Djamel Aboulker couldn't finish the play. Farid Hadjar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Djamel Aboulker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Lounès Bedjaoui could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Farid Hadjar however easily saved by the left post. After some careless play in the Prestonsburg defense, Lounès Bedjaoui kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Farid Hadjar. The Prestonsburg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Farid Hadjar should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes into the match, Prestonsburg's goalkeeper Farid Hadjar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lounès Bedjaoui. After a rather tough play, Prestonsburg's Tedj Fergani got a free kick in the 19th minute. When Belmadi Saïdi-Sief came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Prestonsburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Belmadi Saïdi-Sief couldn't finish the play. René Brahami hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Fadhil Sofiane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yacine Aït Salem in the 30th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Yacine Aït Salem put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fadhil Sofiane. Lounès Bedjaoui succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 39th playminute. Smyrna's Fadhil Sofiane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yacine Aït Salem in the 43rd minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Djamel Aboulker made the kick off in the second half. Belmadi Saïdi-Sief received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Fadhil Sofiane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Belmadi Saïdi-Sief kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. When Smyrna's Djamel Aboulker in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 65 minutes, Yacine Aït Salem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Prestonsburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yacine Aït Salem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Belmadi Saïdi-Sief struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Fadhil Sofiane didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Prestonsburg. The audience was convinced that Yacine Aït Salem's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fadhil Sofiane was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Djamel Aboulker in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Farid Hadjar saved Prestonsburg from getting behind. Lounès Bedjaoui blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Farid Hadjar having to make a save. Djamel Aboulker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Farid Hadjar having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Prestonsburg's goal looked a bit too open when Lounès Bedjaoui came free, but Farid Hadjar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 3-1 became the score in the 93rd minute when Djamel Aboulker elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Smyrna fans cheered their team off the field, for while Prestonsburg had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
