The referee showed Rachid Chebal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rachid Chebal hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Abdel Karim Zitouni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Metz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdel Karim Zitouni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ismael Souakri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abdel Karim Zitouni in the 31st minute. Abdel Karim Zitouni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Souakri having to interfere. If Mohamed Hanister had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abdel Karim Zitouni in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ismael Souakri, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Annapolis AFC's Ismael Souakri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Annapolis AFC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Nasreddine Yahi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Metz's supporters rose to their feet, but Nasreddine Yahi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ismael Souakri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mohamed Hanister got free with Ismael Souakri in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mohamed Hanister recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mohamed Hanister to strike the kick off in the second half. Mourad Bahari blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ismael Souakri having to make a save. The supporters of Metz booed when Annapolis AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Muhammad Hasni didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Abdel Karim Zitouni managed to get in a good position for a shot.
