To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 13 minutes into the match, Cumberland's Abd al-Asis Hamid Brahima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abdelmalek Saadane narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 16thth minute of the game Mouloud Chaib who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cumberland's Kader Abdi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Lazhar Zaoui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cumberland fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! If Abd al-Asis Hamid Brahima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdelmalek Saadane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boudjemaa Madjer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rabah Belhadj in the 41st minute of play forced Cumberland's goalkeeper Kader Abdi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Lakhdar Belhagj had to leave the field with a concussion. Rabah Belhadj hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. When Rachid Saïd-Guerni fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Colony AFC's protests and gave Rachid Saïd-Guerni a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cumberland booed when The Colony AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rachid Saïd-Guerni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Abd al-Asis Hamid Brahima made the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 51 in the game by Mouloud Chaib from a close distance when the talented Kader Abdi managed to make a qualified save. Cumberland's players were relieved. Abdelmalek Saadane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Boudjemaa Madjer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 73 played minutes, The Colony AFC's Kamel Allalou shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kader Abdi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Colony AFC reached it. With a little luck, Cumberland's Kader Abdi got control of the ball when Mouloud Chaib tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lazhar Zaoui in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kader Abdi saved Cumberland from getting behind. Boudjemaa Madjer charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boudjemaa Madjer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cumberland getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Boudjemaa Madjer hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Mouloud Chaib managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Colony AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mouloud Chaib was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kader Abdi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When The Colony AFC's Lazhar Zaoui in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cumberland's goalie prevented a goal. The The Colony AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
