The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Anson FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 11th minute Mourad Zitouni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karim Hamdani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hocine Bruel kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. If Cheb Deghmani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdelhamid Khabatou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tayeb Yacine having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Abdelhamid Khabatou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Weirton AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anson FC the free kick. The supporters of Anson FC booed when Weirton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdelhamid Khabatou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abdelhamid Khabatou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Tayeb Yacine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mourad Zitouni's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karim Hamdani read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Karim Hamdani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mourad Zitouni in the 41st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Weirton AFC's zone, Mourad Zitouni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karim Hamdani came out of the goal and Mourad Zitouni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Mourad Zitouni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anson FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mourad Zitouni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Tayeb Yacine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cheb Deghmani, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After some careless play in the Anson FC defense, Cheb Deghmani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tayeb Yacine. The Anson FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tayeb Yacine should have stopped the shot. If Abdelhamid Khabatou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 65thth minute of the game Cheb Deghmani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Anson FC's Tayeb Yacine was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abdelhamid Khabatou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, Weirton AFC's Cheb Deghmani sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tayeb Yacine narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Smail Bencheikh in the 73rd minute of play forced Weirton AFC's goalkeeper Karim Hamdani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karim Hamdani acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 78th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Karim Nabil. Cheb Deghmani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Anson FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abdelhamid Khabatou came free, but Tayeb Yacine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, Abderrachid Zouba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cheb Deghmani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Mourad Zitouni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Weirton AFC's Karim Hamdani got control of the ball when Mourad Zitouni tried to sneak it across the goal line. Abdelhamid Sadaoui's late challenge caught a Anson FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abdelhamid Sadaoui helped the player get up and apologised. Abdelhamid Sadaoui hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
