Thanks to some nice moves Karim Saïdi-Sief could shoot a difficult shot in the 14th minute, which Mourad Heddou however easily saved by the left post. Tedj Apap came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Desoto Lakes's Mohamed Ben Ahmed Tlemcani. But to his dismay, Mohamed Ben Ahmed Tlemcani quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mustapha Fadhil Mohamed fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mourad Heddou having to interfere. Karim Saïdi-Sief struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Mourad Heddou didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kewaskum. Maamar Zerguelaine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 51 played minutes Kewaskum got a freekick which was hit by Amine Matmour. After a rather tough play, Kewaskum's Mustapha Fadhil Mohamed got a free kick in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Desoto Lakes's zone, Karim Saïdi-Sief stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mourad Heddou came out of the goal and Karim Saïdi-Sief tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maamar Zerguelaine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mourad Heddou having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Desoto Lakes's Tedj Apap threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hocine Amri, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
