Rmadrid Castilla's Noureddine Saadane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Nabil in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Rmadrid Castilla's Hachemi Hamrouche sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brahim Laref narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
