Djamel Saïdi-Sief might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ismael Zidān. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Djamel Saïdi-Sief ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Newllano getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Souad Sakhri hit a great ball. Djamel Saïdi-Sief fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Zidān having to interfere. When Reda Bouazza fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newllano's protests and gave Reda Bouazza a yellow card for diving instead. Reda Bouazza kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Karim Djaout hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Medjadi Liegeon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Arruda having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Newllano's zone, Abderrachid Yahia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael Zidān came out of the goal and Abderrachid Yahia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th match minute, Newllano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reda Bouazza to maneuver through the defense. Abderrachid Yahia struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Ismael Zidān didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Happy Never. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Medjadi Liegeon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Hocine Gaouaoui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Zidān saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Madhi Ahmed kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Happy Never's Hocine Gaouaoui got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Djamel Saïdi-Sief received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ismael Zidān tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Djamel Saïdi-Sief sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Newllano's Ismael Zidān played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abderrachid Yahia in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Ahmed Lacen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Medjadi Liegeon came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Newllano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Medjadi Liegeon couldn't finish the play.
