Mehdi Harkouk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Djamel Yacef in the 11th minute. Mehdi Harkouk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fadel Raho in the 17th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Preston Heights's goal looked a bit too open when Hamid Bouguerra came free, but Abdelhamid Cohen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fodil Ramdani in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abdelhamid Cohen saved Preston Heights from getting behind. Preston Heights's Djamel Yacef got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daho Kensi charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daho Kensi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Daho Kensi hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Mehdi Harkouk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fadel Raho in the 28th minute of play. After 29 minutes, Ali Iles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chatham and the Preston Heights players grew even worse after the yellow card. Djamel Yacef who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Mehdi Harkouk when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Daho Kensi got his second yellow card in the match during the 33rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 34 played minutes Chatham got a freekick which was hit by Daho Kensi. In the 45th minute, Mohamed Kerbouche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mehdi Harkouk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fadel Raho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
