Spectators: 6704 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1704, VIP seats: 0) Kamel Benmabrouk started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 11th minute, Abdelhamid El-Ouafi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Kamel Benmabrouk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cheikha Hamdani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kamel Benmabrouk in the 16th minute of play. Van Horn AFC's Cheikha Hamdani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kamel Benmabrouk in the 18th minute of play. Sparta were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Van Horn AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ahmed Douibi took the corner. Sparta's Ahmed Douibi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cheikha Hamdani in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kamel Benmabrouk in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cheikha Hamdani saved Van Horn AFC from getting behind. Mustapha Belkacem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fodil Zitouni, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Kamel Benmabrouk notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Van Horn AFC's Cheikha Hamdani. Cheikha Hamdani was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 25th minute Kamel Benmabrouk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cheikha Hamdani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mustapha Belkacem made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Yacine Mazzid sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Yacine Mazzid managed to get in a good position for a shot. Van Horn AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Yacine Mazzid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mustapha Belkacem breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sparta's Ferhat Khabatou got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Kamel Benmabrouk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Sparta were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Mustapha Belkacem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yacine Mazzid in the 54th minute of play. If Ferhat Khabatou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 played minutes Van Horn AFC got a freekick which was hit by Abdelmalek Hadjadj. Kamel Benmabrouk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Cheikha Hamdani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fodil Zitouni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustapha Belkacem having to interfere. If Ferhat Khabatou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferhat Khabatou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 played minutes Van Horn AFC got a freekick which was hit by Abdelhamid El-Ouafi. 81 minutes into the match, Van Horn AFC's goalkeeper Cheikha Hamdani had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferhat Khabatou. In the 84th minute, Abd al-Asis Lelouch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Sparta getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Amrani Benflis hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Sparta's goal looked a bit too open when Yacine Mazzid came free, but Mustapha Belkacem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute of the match, Ferhat Khabatou got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cheikha Hamdani was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Sparta's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
