When Jean Mimoun fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vernal's protests and gave Jean Mimoun a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vernal getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Jean Mimoun hit a great ball. Robert Zitouni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Smail Khalef tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Smail Khalef showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Bella in the 11th minute of the match. Zīn ud-Dīn Moussa kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. If Mouloud Kourichi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Burleson FC's goalkeeper Djamal Beloufa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abderrahmane Kraouche. If Robert Bella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vernal's Abderrahmane Kraouche got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute of the match Abdelmalek Liegeon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Djamal Beloufa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Abderrahmane Kraouche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Zitouni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Smail Khalef having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Vernal's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Zitouni came free, but Smail Khalef reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute, Ben Khalef hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Bella to make the kick off. If Robert Zitouni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 58 minutes, Robert Zitouni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burleson FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Zitouni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abderrahmane Kraouche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Djamal Beloufa having to interfere. Burleson FC's Djamal Beloufa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abderrahmane Kraouche in the 77th minute of play. Noureddine Boudjedra charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noureddine Boudjedra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Vernal booed when Burleson FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noureddine Boudjedra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Zitouni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Robert Bella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Burleson FC's Robert Bella ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Smail Khalef. Smail Khalef yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Smail Khalef made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robert Zitouni in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute Robert Bella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Smail Khalef saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Burleson FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
