El Raï didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fathi Mouzaoui went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 10 minutes into the match, Raceland FC's goalkeeper Abdelhani Matmour had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fathi Amsallem. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fathi Mouzaoui in the 12th minute of play forced Des Plaines FC's goalkeeper El Raï to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robert Assad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. El Raï tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Raceland FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Sofiane Ghozali hit a great ball. Djamel Fanon got in the 25th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Abdelhani Matmour and thus it was 1-1. Robert Assad might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over El Raï. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Assad ran back to his position shaking his head. Robert Assad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. El Raï tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Des Plaines FC defense, Fathi Mouzaoui kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of El Raï. The Des Plaines FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that El Raï should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fathi Mouzaoui to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Des Plaines FC's Lakhdar Aribi got a free kick in the 52nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robert Assad in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg El Raï saved Des Plaines FC from getting behind. Fathi Amsallem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fathi Amsallem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Abdelhani Matmour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abdelhani Matmour showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdelnacer Mezair in the 65th minute of the match. El Raï was a little too slow when Fathi Mouzaoui got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 1-4. Fathi Mouzaoui's late challenge caught a Des Plaines FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fathi Mouzaoui helped the player get up and apologised. With an all-out effort, Raceland FC's El Raï threw himself towards the right post 76 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fathi Mouzaoui, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fathi Amsallem took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abdelhani Matmour. Abdelhani Matmour dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. If Robert Assad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Des Plaines FC's El Raï played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fathi Mouzaoui in the 88th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Raceland FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fathi Amsallem came free, but Abdelhani Matmour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abdelnacer Mezair blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abdelhani Matmour having to make a save. Abdelhani Matmour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelnacer Mezair in the 94th minute of play. If Fathi Amsallem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
