The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Des Plaines FC's El Raï proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Des Plaines FC from getting a goal against them. 5 minutes into the match, Des Plaines FC's goalkeeper El Raï had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robert Assad. El Raï made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fathi Mouzaoui in the 6th minute of play. After 7 played minutes Raceland FC got a freekick which was hit by Rachid Medjani. Fathi Amsallem struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Abdelhani Matmour didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Des Plaines FC. Abdelmalek Benflis charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abdelmalek Benflis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th minute, Abdelmalek Benflis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Rachid Mezdad fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Des Plaines FC's protests and gave Rachid Mezdad a yellow card for diving instead. 22 minutes into the match, Fathi Mouzaoui dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of El Raï, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robert Assad in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg El Raï saved Des Plaines FC from getting behind. After having played for 29 minutes, Abdelnacer Mezair managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Des Plaines FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdelnacer Mezair was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fathi Amsallem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelhani Matmour having to interfere. With a little luck, Des Plaines FC's El Raï got control of the ball when Robert Assad tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute, Mohamed Saïd-Guerni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Djamel Fanon was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Des Plaines FC's Djamel Fanon got a free kick in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Des Plaines FC's goalkeeper El Raï, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 55th minute there was a penalty for Raceland FC. Mamaar Liegeon stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving El Raï. 2-0. El Raï stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fathi Mouzaoui's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Fathi Mouzaoui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. El Raï tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fathi Amsallem could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Abdelhani Matmour made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Des Plaines FC's Djamel Fanon got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Fathi Mouzaoui's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but El Raï read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Mamaar Liegeon hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Raceland FC's zone, Djamel Fanon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdelhani Matmour came out of the goal and Djamel Fanon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robert Assad blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without El Raï having to make a save. Robert Assad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but El Raï read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. In the 97th minute Robert Assad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but El Raï saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Des Plaines FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Raceland FC.
