The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fodil Belkacem in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hamid Bitat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Romanisti fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Romanisti's Fodil Belkacem looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mohamed Ben Macias's late challenge caught a HAYK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mohamed Ben Macias helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, Romanisti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mohamed Ben Macias to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in HAYK's zone, Fodil Belkacem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamid Bitat came out of the goal and Fodil Belkacem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ferhat Abdenouz hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Romanisti's Fodil Belkacem couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for HAYK. Cheb Matmour took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mourad Saïdi-Sief, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Mohamed Ben Macias was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 28 minutes had been played. Mohamed Ben Macias kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the game, HAYK's Almir Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cheb Matmour made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Almir Nevess short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Cheb Matmour to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Yacine Cavalli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Mourad Saïdi-Sief fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a little luck, Romanisti's Cheb Matmour got control of the ball when Almir Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mourad Saïdi-Sief in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cheb Matmour prevented the ball from getting in the gole. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mourad Saïdi-Sief to strike the kick off in the second half. Mourad Saïdi-Sief blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cheb Matmour having to make a save. With a little luck, HAYK's Hamid Bitat got control of the ball when Fodil Belkacem tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Hemza Skif fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored HAYK's protests and gave Hemza Skif a yellow card for diving instead. Kateb Iles kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Romanisti's Fodil Belkacem got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the match, Romanisti's goal looked a bit too open when Almir Neves came free, but Cheb Matmour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Mourad Saïdi-Sief ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cheb Matmour was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fodil Belkacem in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hamid Bitat saved HAYK from getting behind. Mourad Saïdi-Sief struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Cheb Matmour didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HAYK. The supporters of HAYK booed when Romanisti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamza Maroc didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Hemza Skif was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 94 minutes had been played. A collision led to HAYK getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Hemza Skif hit a great ball.
