When Abdelnasser Arrache fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bennington's protests and gave Abdelnasser Arrache a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Djamel Menguellet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kasdi Mansouri was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdelaziz Bessou in the 24th minute of play forced Bennington's goalkeeper Kasdi Mansouri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Bennington's Zīn ud-Dīn Heddou dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. If Djamel Menguellet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 37 minutes, Djamel Menguellet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lake Lucerne AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Djamel Menguellet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Bennington's goal looked a bit too open when Abdelaziz Bessou came free, but Kasdi Mansouri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kasdi Mansouri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdelaziz Bessou in the 40th minute of the match. Abdelaziz Bessou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kasdi Mansouri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Djamel Menguellet in the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zīn ud-Dīn Heddou was the one to do the kick off. Kasdi Mansouri made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Djamel Menguellet sent off a good shot on target. 57 minutes into the match, Lake Lucerne AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Zīn ud-Dīn Heddou came free, but Medjadi Djura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kasdi Mansouri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Djamel Menguellet in the 62nd minute. Abdelaziz Bessou might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kasdi Mansouri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abdelaziz Bessou ran back to his position shaking his head. Medjadi Djura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zīn ud-Dīn Heddou in the 70th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Zīn ud-Dīn Heddou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Medjadi Djura. Lake Lucerne AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zīn ud-Dīn Heddou was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The supporters of Lake Lucerne AFC booed when Bennington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amrani Harkat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abdelaziz Bessou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasdi Mansouri having to interfere. If Abdelaziz Bessou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Djamel Menguellet blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kasdi Mansouri having to make a save. When the referee blew the final whistle, Bennington could leave the field as winners, despite Lake Lucerne AFC having more of the ball for most of the match.
