Yazid Mezair came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ahmed Bey could save by the left post. Ciro Isadore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmed Saïdi-Sief, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Yazid Mezair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karim Saïfi in the 27th minute of play forced Coppell's goalkeeper Ahmed Bey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fodil Ahmed to strike the kick off in the second half. After 59 played minutes, AFC Yangon's Farès Tahar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ahmed Bey came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AFC Yangon reached it. Ahmed Saïdi-Sief fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Isadore having to interfere. Ciro Isadore made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ahmed Saïdi-Sief in the 64th minute. Yazid Mezair fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmed Bey having to interfere. After 73 minutes of play, AFC Yangon's Fodil Ahmed made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ahmed Bey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. AFC Yangon were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
