Abdelmalek Boutabout made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kasdi Labi in the 8th minute. Cheb Benida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chih Sahraoui's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Nasreddine Saci managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Lorenzo's supporters rose to their feet, but Nasreddine Saci was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cheb Benida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cheb Benida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nasreddine Saci, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Cheb Benida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chih Sahraoui in the 28th minute of the match. 0-1 became the score in the 31st minute when Chih Sahraoui elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The long shot by Djamal Belmellat in the 36th minute really tested Abdelmalek Boutabout's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Kasdi Labi had several of the San Lorenzo's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 40 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Abdelmalek Boutabout as he didn't even see the shot coming. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leon Reda Madouni was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Hartville booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Khalida Harkouk didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Reda Madouni in the 61st minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Abdelmalek Boutabout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hartville's Kasdi Labi in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Lorenzo's goalie prevented a goal. The referee ignored Hartville's protests and gave Noureddine Boutabout a yellow card for diving instead. In the 75th minute, Noureddine Boutabout hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leon Reda Madouni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
