The referee ignored Aliso Viejo's protests and gave Ahmed Larbi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Aliso Viejo getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Karim Al-Jazairia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdelnacer Achiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mohamed Merzekane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdelaziz Boutabouts short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Cheb Benhabiles to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match had been going on for 75 minutes, Aliso Viejo's Mansour Bouguerra got an opportunity to shoot a penalty.
