Hameur Benhabiles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fateh Boniche having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hameur Benhabiles in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fateh Boniche saved Moultrie from getting behind. 9 minutes into the match, Shamrock Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Bendjedid Benmabrouk came free, but Belaid Ghozali reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, one of Moultrie:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Moultrie. 16 minutes into the match, Shamrock Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Bendjedid Benmabrouk came free, but Belaid Ghozali reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rachid Abbas struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Fateh Boniche didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shamrock Rovers. 23 minutes into the match, Shamrock Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Said Ibrir came free, but Belaid Ghozali reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rachid Abbas's late challenge caught a Moultrie's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rachid Abbas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th match minute, Shamrock Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rachid Abbas to maneuver through the defense. Fodil Deghmani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fateh Boniche having to interfere. Mourad Djebar kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Abdelhamid Beloufa charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abdelhamid Beloufa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Shamrock Rovers booed when Moultrie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdelhamid Beloufa didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rachid Abbas got free in front of the goal in the 44th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Fateh Boniche was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Said Ibrir stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fateh Boniche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rachid Abbas in the 57th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Bendjedid Benmabrouk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moultrie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bendjedid Benmabrouk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bendjedid Benmabrouk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Rachid Abbas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shamrock Rovers's supporters rose to their feet, but Rachid Abbas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fateh Boniche breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Belaid Ghozali made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Bendjedid Benmabrouk sent off a good shot on target. Fateh Boniche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rachid Abbas, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After 83 minutes Moultrie's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abdelaziz Ghazi who took care of the corner kick. Ismaël Zaoui kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Moultrie's zone, Edmond Bouazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fateh Boniche came out of the goal and Edmond Bouazza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Moultrie defense, Rachid Abbas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fateh Boniche. The Moultrie fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fateh Boniche should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Moultrie players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Shamrock Rovers.
