Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oriol Loyola in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Belaid Ghozali prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Shamrock Rovers's Hameur Benhabiles in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goalie prevented a goal. Oriol Loyola scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Belaid Ghozali, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Belaid Ghozali came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Oriol Loyola. But to his dismay, Oriol Loyola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 14 played minutes Shamrock Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Ismaël Zaoui. If Hameur Benhabiles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 28th minute Fodil Deghmani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdel Karim Hanister saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belaid Ghozali stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kristian Aarstad's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Abdel Karim Hanister made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hameur Benhabiles in the 37th minute of play. When GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Oriol Loyola in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Shamrock Rovers's goalie prevented a goal. In the 40th minute Oriol Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Belaid Ghozali saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rachid Abbas got free with Abdel Karim Hanister in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Abderrahmane Mekhloufi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 minutes, Madjid Boulmerka mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shamrock Rovers and the GoooooooooooooooooooooooL players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Shamrock Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Madjid Boulmerka to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The wind increased when Hameur Benhabiles made the kick off in the second half. Zīn ud-Dīn Bahari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdel Karim Hanister having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Oriol Loyola fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Belaid Ghozali, passed just outside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hameur Benhabiles in the 60th minute of play forced GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goalkeeper Abdel Karim Hanister to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oriol Loyola was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After having played for 69 minutes, Hameur Benhabiles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shamrock Rovers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hameur Benhabiles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Hameur Benhabiles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shamrock Rovers's supporters rose to their feet, but Hameur Benhabiles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdel Karim Hanister breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 76th minute of the match Friedrich Engels shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Belaid Ghozali showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Shamrock Rovers's zone, Oriol Loyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Belaid Ghozali came out of the goal and Oriol Loyola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 81 played minutes Shamrock Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Zīn ud-Dīn Bahari. Kristian Aarstad struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Belaid Ghozali didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GoooooooooooooooooooooooL. After a defensive mix-up in Shamrock Rovers's zone, Abderrahmane Mekhloufi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Belaid Ghozali came out of the goal and Abderrahmane Mekhloufi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Oriol Loyola slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Belaid Ghozali. That made the score 0-7 after 86 minutes of play. Zīn ud-Dīn Bahari hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Belaid Ghozali didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oriol Loyola went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL played a much better game than Shamrock Rovers and deserved their victory. The Shamrock Rovers players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
