Hocine Morceli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kateb Adjaoud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Coventry City's Hameur Amara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ali Lacarne. Ali Lacarne yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Hocine Morceli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kateb Adjaoud, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Ali Lacarne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hameur Amara in the 24th minute of the match. Ali Lacarne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ali Sadmi in the 29th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mohamed Hindi during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hugo FC's Ali Lacarne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Hugo FC from getting a goal against them. Ali Lacarne made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Ali Sadmi sent off a good shot on target. Hameur Amara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ali Lacarne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Abdelhamid Bouzid left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hugo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The supporters of Coventry City booed when Hugo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdelhamid Bouzid didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abdelhamid Bouzid was the one to do the kick off. Ali Sadmi might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ali Lacarne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ali Sadmi ran back to his position shaking his head. When Ali Sadmi fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coventry City's protests and gave Ali Sadmi a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Coventry City's Ali Sadmi got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Hocine Morceli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abdelhamid Bouzid in the 63rd minute. Mohamed Hindi was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The Hugo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ali Lacarne should have stopped the shot. If Hameur Amara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Hameur Amara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ali Lacarne was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hameur Amara in the 90th minute of play forced Hugo FC's goalkeeper Ali Lacarne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Noureddine Zidane was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hocine Morceli made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Abdelhamid Bouzid sent off a good shot on target. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Coventry City fully deserved thier win.
