Bernardo Fabri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustaquio Martinic in the 12th minute of the match. Cipriano Oteiza charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cipriano Oteiza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cutijmaya FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Cipriano Oteiza hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferrán Jorquera got free with Bernardo Fabri in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Clemencín Abasolo's late challenge caught a Cutijmaya FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clemencín Abasolo helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Cutijmaya FC's zone, Silvio Paillemil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Dibarrart came out of the goal and Silvio Paillemil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mario Dibarrart showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlín Serón, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Orlín Serón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Orlín Serón's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mario Dibarrart was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Ferrán Jorquera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Universidad De Chile getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Zacarías Daneri hit a great ball. Cutijmaya FC's Eustaquio Martinic managed to work through Universidad De Chile's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Eustaquio Martinic dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eustaquio Martinic stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eustaquio Martinic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee ignored Universidad De Chile's protests and gave Marcel Grebe a yellow card for diving instead. Bernardo Fabri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eustaquio Martinic's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. In the 93rd match minute, Cutijmaya FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Cuello to maneuver through the defense.
