When Jon-Ander Quezada fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Toculla's protests and gave Jon-Ander Quezada a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, Jon-Ander Quezada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Toculla's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ireno Chavarria fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Toculla's Omar Cruz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Toculla from getting a goal against them. In the 46th minute René Scarano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cipriano Álvarez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
