But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Javier Balboa couldn't finish the play. Ariano Alliende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Curimon's Bernardo Canto got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Oberoso's Hermenegildo Vivar got a free kick in the 55th minute. Hermenegildo Vivar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Orlando Macera having to interfere. With a little luck, Oberoso's Julio Brzovic got control of the ball when Ariano Alliende tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 69th minute, Amado Ondegardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Ariano Alliende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomás Campo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 81 minutes of play, Curimon's Ariano Alliende made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Brzovic was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Oberoso's Julio Brzovic got control of the ball when Bernardo Canto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ariano Alliende could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Julio Brzovic made a huge save. In the 96th minute Hermenegildo Vivar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Macera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
