Spectators: 6709 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Silvio Monge got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Paillahue AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Iván Minassian came free, but Gualberto Moncada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Quique Soupper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antonio Infante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvio Monge in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, one of Esperanza:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Esperanza. Valentín Irizar shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The supporters of Esperanza booed when Paillahue AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sisebuto Tripailaf didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Quique Soupper got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Victoriano Cangas's late challenge caught a Paillahue AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victoriano Cangas helped the player get up and apologised. After 30 minutes, Teofilo Molinare mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paillahue AFC and the Esperanza players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Paillahue AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofilo Molinare to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paillahue AFC's goalkeeper Gualberto Moncada, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Paillahue AFC's zone, Quique Soupper stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualberto Moncada came out of the goal and Quique Soupper tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Norino Lazcano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Esperanza were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Quique Soupper was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Paillahue AFC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Teofilo Molinare hit a great ball. If Topocho León had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antonio Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvio Monge in the 60th minute of the match. Antonio Infante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Topocho León's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Silvio Monge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paillahue AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvio Monge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute, Topocho León got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Quique Soupper managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esperanza's supporters rose to their feet, but Quique Soupper was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualberto Moncada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Paillahue AFC's zone, Quique Soupper stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualberto Moncada came out of the goal and Quique Soupper tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 74 minutes of play Paillahue AFC's Teofilo Molinare was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Paillahue AFC's Silvio Monge got a free kick in the 76th minute. Topocho León received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Antonio Infante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Esperanza's Guillermo Bascur got a free kick in the 80th minute. Topocho León sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Victoriano Cangas came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Esperanza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victoriano Cangas couldn't finish the play. When Silvio Monge fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paillahue AFC's protests and gave Silvio Monge a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Paillahue AFC's Silvio Monge got a free kick in the 90th minute. Antonio Infante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Topocho León in the 96th minute of play. The Paillahue AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Esperanza's performance. The match ended with a win for Esperanza.
