Spectators: 6708 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1708, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Delfino Necochea started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Alianza Lima booed when Esperanza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odín Ferrari didn't get a good kick on the ball. 1-0 became the score in the 13th minute when Delfino Necochea elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Iván Minassian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rómulo Maroto having to interfere. Esperanza's Iván Minassian got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Delfino Necochea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Unai Ross's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antonio Infante was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Iván Minassian kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 28thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Alianza Lima's keeper Rómulo Maroto was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. A collision led to Esperanza getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Victoriano Cangas hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the game, Odín Ferrari was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esperanza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alianza Lima the free kick. In the 34th minute of the match Constancio Asencio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antonio Infante skillfully saved the ball. Iván Minassian did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Rómulo Maroto 36 minutes into the match. Delfino Necochea succeeded in the game's 42nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. In the 47th minute, Odín Ferrari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ruesga Swett made the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Alianza Lima's goal looked a bit too open when Delfino Necochea came free, but Rómulo Maroto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ruesga Swett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Infante having to interfere. Peio Farreras kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. If Ruesga Swett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 minutes of play, Alianza Lima's Unai Ross made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antonio Infante was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 71st minute Delfino Necochea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rómulo Maroto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 73 minutes, Constancio Asencio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alianza Lima and the Esperanza players grew even worse after the yellow card. Constancio Asencio kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Antonio Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruesga Swett in the 75th minute of the match. After 76 played minutes Esperanza got a freekick which was hit by Laureano Ambrosetti. Unai Ross took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antonio Infante. Antonio Infante dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 86 minutes into the match, Esperanza's Iván Minassian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rómulo Maroto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jacobo Cross's late challenge caught a Alianza Lima's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacobo Cross helped the player get up and apologised. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Esperanza! The goalkeeper, Antonio Infante, was totally fooled by Alianza Lima's Constancio Asencio, who 98 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Esperanza were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
