After a rather tough play, Rota's Firmín Lopetegui got a free kick in the 17th minute. Bonifacio Jeldrez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emilio Schlubach read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Luis Matte Larrain's Bonifacio Jeldrez got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cirilo Vasconcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Odín Velez kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. When Odín Velez fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rota's protests and gave Odín Velez a yellow card for diving instead. Odín Velez hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Emilio Schlubach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelino Bravo in the 39th minute of the match. If Emilio Felipe Dargham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Luis Matte Larrain's goal looked a bit too open when Damián Javia came free, but Casimiro Eslava reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 60thth minute of the game Emilio Felipe Dargham who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rota's Emilio Schlubach was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damián Javia in the 63rd minute of play forced Luis Matte Larrain's goalkeeper Casimiro Eslava to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Luis Matte Larrain booed when Rota was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damián Javia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute Bonifacio Jeldrez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Schlubach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
