He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rota reached it. Rutenio Gazmuri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Rota. Natalio Pagueguy stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Casimiro Eslava. 0-1. But to his dismay, Bonifacio Jeldrez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 47th minute Damián Javia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casimiro Eslava saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damián Javia to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Felipe Dargham in the 53rd minute of play forced Rota's goalkeeper Emilio Schlubach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Damián Javia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Casimiro Eslava, 1-2. Efraín Owen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emilio Schlubach. In the 79th minute, one of Rota:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rota. Emilio Felipe Dargham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Emilio Schlubach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Emilio Felipe Dargham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the game, Firmín Lopetegui cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Casimiro Eslava was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Luis Matte Larrain supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rota's performance. The match ended with a win for Rota.
