Washington Oviedo came out of the goal and Mónico Becerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cristofer Talavera came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Lota City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristofer Talavera couldn't finish the play. Lota City FC's Leonel Haverbeck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mercurio Trepte in the 13th minute of play. Leonel Haverbeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Landaeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Lota City FC booed when Collanco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo Landaeta didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mercurio Trepte in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonel Haverbeck saved Lota City FC from getting behind. Leonel Haverbeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Schiller, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Leonel Haverbeck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mercurio Trepte in the 28th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Lota City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Schiller came free, but Leonel Haverbeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mónico Becerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Washington Oviedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Honorio Naveda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lota City FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorio Naveda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Washington Oviedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mónico Becerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Collanco's Arnoldo Landaeta got a free kick in the 44th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guido Schiller stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Lota City FC's Leonel Haverbeck got control of the ball when Mercurio Trepte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Flavio Dragicevic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Washington Oviedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Dragicevic in the 61st minute of the match. The supporters of Collanco booed when Lota City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerardo Pirola didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mónico Becerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th match minute, Collanco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Elorriaga to maneuver through the defense. Leonel Haverbeck made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Mercurio Trepte sent off a good shot on target. Mónico Becerra might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Washington Oviedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mónico Becerra ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Lota City FC's Honorio Naveda got a free kick in the 98th minute.
