With an all-out effort, Oliague FC's Fermín Ayala threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bernardino Reygadas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The attack was good, but when Amadeo Bettini in the 16th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 21st minute, Melirupo FC's Odilón Plaza seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Odilón Plaza the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Melirupo FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Odilón Plaza had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Melirupo FC! Amadeo Bettinis short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Fermín Ayala to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Melirupo FC's Wilfredo Daniel got a free kick in the 33rd minute. If Eliseo Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 38 minutes into the match, Oliague FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Santana came free, but Juan Antonio Bakovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardino Reygadas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
