The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Palpaico's Jasone Monge proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Palpaico from getting a goal against them. Teofilio Ascuí recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Teofilio Ascuí had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teofilio Ascuí fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Román Echegoyen having to interfere. A collision led to Rincon FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Gilesindo Maiz hit a great ball. Teofilio Ascuí struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Román Echegoyen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palpaico. 23 minutes into the match, Palpaico's Inacio Gadano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Román Echegoyen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th match minute, Palpaico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inacio Gadano to maneuver through the defense. Jasone Monge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quim Villaseñor in the 30th minute of the match. Palpaico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Higinio Valdivieso scored to the left of an out of position Jasone Monge, making the score, 1-0. With a little luck, Palpaico's Jasone Monge got control of the ball when Albin Marquezado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Teofilio Ascuí sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Inacio Gadano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Román Echegoyen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Rincon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albin Marquezado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jasone Monge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Quim Villaseñor's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Jasone Monge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albin Marquezado in the 73rd minute of play. After 75 minutes, Naelio Evar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rincon FC and the Palpaico players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, Naelio Evar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
