The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Ricardo Ambrosetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Tancredo Quera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Shaolin Soccer FC's José Javier Abufom got a free kick in the 13th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Carelmapu's goal looked a bit too open when José Javier Abufom came free, but Romano Toro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Javier Abufom's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romano Toro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Tancredo Quera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Ambrosetti, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The supporters of Carelmapu booed when Shaolin Soccer FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moncho Fell didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Xosé Bombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carelmapu's supporters rose to their feet, but Xosé Bombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tancredo Quera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28th minute Ricardo Ambrosetti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tancredo Quera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shaolin Soccer FC's Tancredo Quera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Ambrosetti in the 29th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ricardo Ambrosetti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tancredo Quera was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When Saturnín Alfaro came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Shaolin Soccer FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saturnín Alfaro couldn't finish the play. When Ricardo Ambrosetti came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Carelmapu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Ambrosetti couldn't finish the play. Tancredo Quera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xosé Bombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricardo Ambrosetti to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Saturnín Alfaro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carelmapu's Romano Toro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Shaolin Soccer FC's José Javier Abufom got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Carelmapu's Ricardo Ambrosetti in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Saturnín Alfaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shaolin Soccer FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saturnín Alfaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Martín Alvear's late challenge caught a Shaolin Soccer FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saturnín Alfaro struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Romano Toro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shaolin Soccer FC. In the 82nd minute, Ricardo Ambrosetti made a precise shot to the right of Tancredo Quera. Shaolin Soccer FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1.
