The audience was convinced that Ricardo Ambrosetti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victorio Cervantes was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After having played for 25 minutes, Emanuel Cavada managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amincha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Cavada was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Godofredo Mendoza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Ambrosetti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorio Cervantes having to interfere. Xosé Bombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emanuel Cavada who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Romano Toro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Victorio Cervantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Ambrosetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Ambrosetti took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victorio Cervantes. Victorio Cervantes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricardo Ambrosetti to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardo Ambrosetti in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victorio Cervantes saved Amincha from getting behind. Ricardo Ambrosettis short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Victorio Cervantes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Carelmapu booed when Amincha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulgencio Espinace didn't get a good kick on the ball. Godofredo Mendoza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Romano Toro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Juan Raúl Erazo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romano Toro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Cavada in the 86th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Godofredo Mendoza in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romano Toro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emanuel Cavada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romano Toro having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
