The Mafil FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Juan Ignacio Cornejo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Carlos José Santiago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Amato Irisarri notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Mafil FC's Omar Mellibosky. Omar Mellibosky was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mafil FC's Omar Mellibosky played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amato Irisarri in the 39th minute of play. Omar Mellibosky took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amato Irisarri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rafa Hoffmann to strike the kick off in the second half. When Juan Ignacio Cornejo came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Mafil FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Ignacio Cornejo couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ambrosio Garretón got free with Omar Mellibosky in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Mafil FC booed when Misquihue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Lautroup didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isaac Palau, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. José Javier Dietsch's late challenge caught a Mafil FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some careless play in the Mafil FC defense, Ambrosio Garretón kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Omar Mellibosky. The Mafil FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Omar Mellibosky should have stopped the shot. Ambrosio Garretón received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Omar Mellibosky tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ambrosio Garretón's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Omar Mellibosky read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The Misquihue supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Misquihue would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
