With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Alejandro Echaiz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 10 minutes, Abdón Respaldiza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tranquilla and the Lautaro players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tranquilla getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Tranquilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lautaro the free kick. The supporters of Lautaro booed when Tranquilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niguel Pinuer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eloi Paladino took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Alejandro Echaiz. José Alejandro Echaiz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Lautaro's Lucián Cangas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niguel Pinuer in the 23rd minute of play. If Eloi Paladino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Plácido Zorrilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. José Alejandro Echaiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eloi Paladino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Plácido Zorrilla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tranquilla's José Alejandro Echaiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Plácido Zorrilla in the 36th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Niguel Pinuer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tranquilla fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. José Alejandro Echaiz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Plácido Zorrilla's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Tranquilla's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Plácido Zorrilla 47 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

If Eloi Paladino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 61 minutes, Plácido Zorrilla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lautaro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Plácido Zorrilla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro's Eloi Paladino got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tranquilla's Niguel Pinuer got his second yellow card of the match in the 67th minute. The referee ordered Niguel Pinuer off the ground. Edelmiro Cataldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the game, Sergi Gebhard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Plácido Zorrilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Sergi Gebhard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lautaro's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergi Gebhard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Alejandro Echaiz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
