When Simón Gerbella came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Quinamavida AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simón Gerbella couldn't finish the play. Natalio Melinao recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felipe Cerda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 17 minutes, Vincente Friederichs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quinamavida AFC and the Huachipato FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th minute, one of Quinamavida AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Quinamavida AFC. Andy Egaña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Melinao in the 28th minute of play. Severiano Maritano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timeteo Huilcaman in the 30th minute of the match. If Timeteo Huilcaman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ferrando Villalta fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huachipato FC's protests and gave Ferrando Villalta a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Huachipato FC's Ferrando Villalta got a free kick in the 36th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Huachipato FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! 43 minutes in the game, Simón Gerbella fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Andy Egaña having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Ferrando Villalta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Natalio Melinao stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Huachipato FC got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Fritis. When Quinamavida AFC's Natalio Melinao in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 71 minutes into the match, Felipe Cerda notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Huachipato FC's Andy Egaña. Andy Egaña was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adriel Armenta got free with Severiano Maritano in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adriel Armenta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Severiano Maritano made a huge save. Simón Gerbella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Egaña having to interfere. Natalio Melinao struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Andy Egaña didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quinamavida AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Huachipato FC's zone, Simón Gerbella stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andy Egaña came out of the goal and Simón Gerbella tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andy Egaña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simón Gerbella, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Huachipato FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Quinamavida AFC.
