Karlos Paternost showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramón Aldana, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Fernando Armstrong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee gave Apiau AFC a penalty, 26 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marín Villela, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tarapaca FC's Karlos Paternost. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Tarapaca FC's Theobald Gálvez got a free kick in the 35th minute. Aristeo Lastarria was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Unai Vidma stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Ramón Aldana ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karlos Paternost was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 55 played minutes Apiau AFC got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Armstrong. Karlos Paternost made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Ramón Aldana sent off a good shot on target. Unai Vidma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Bernardino Sobarzo came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Tarapaca FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardino Sobarzo couldn't finish the play. Apiau AFC's Aristeo Lastarria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Unai Vidma in the 67th minute of play. In the 73rd minute Unai Vidma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristeo Lastarria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karlos Paternost showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Armstrong, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Federico Contardo kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Marín Villela kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Unai Vidma's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aristeo Lastarria was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Karlos Paternost showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Armstrong in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Unai Vidma in the 88th minute of play forced Apiau AFC's goalkeeper Aristeo Lastarria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernando Armstrong struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Karlos Paternost didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apiau AFC.
