This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Fulco Brotfeld as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 18th minute, Leonides Bahamonde ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fulco Brotfeld was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. When Severo Sologuren fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Magallanes's protests and gave Severo Sologuren a yellow card for diving instead. Eustaquio Obanos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Fulco Brotfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Eustaquio Obanos fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Leonides Bahamonde struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Fulco Brotfeld didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magallanes. 30 minutes into the game, Eustaquio Obanos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Magallanes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Huaitane the free kick. After a rather tough play, Huaitane's Desiderio Klickmann got a free kick in the 32nd minute. If Leonides Bahamonde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eustaquio Obanos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulco Brotfeld having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, Magallanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javiero Alenk to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 43 in the game by Leonides Bahamonde from a close distance when the talented Fulco Brotfeld managed to make a qualified save. Huaitane's players were relieved. Eustaquio Obanos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-1 to the left of a surprised Fulco Brotfeld 44 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the game, one of Huaitane:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Fulco Brotfeld, was totally fooled by Magallanes's Romeo Galarce, who 50 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

After a rather tough play, Huaitane's Casimiro Armanet got a free kick in the 58th minute. If Leonides Bahamonde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Javiero Alenk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fulco Brotfeld was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Leonides Bahamonde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Leoncio Ascue came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Magallanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leoncio Ascue couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that Magallanes were the better team. Magallanes's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
