With a left leg Hernán Justicia saved El Eterno Campeon from getting behind. 17 minutes into the match, El Eterno Campeon's goal looked a bit too open when Quique Angulo came free, but Hernán Justicia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 18 played minutes El Eterno Campeon got a freekick which was hit by Wilson Barnard. The supporters of Cardonal FC booed when El Eterno Campeon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Poulus Robinson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Albin Artigas made a huge save. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind El Eterno Campeon's goalkeeper Hernán Justicia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 43rd minute of the match Xabel Smitmans sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hernán Justicia skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vicente Plata was the one to do the kick off. Bartolo Sansone kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. El Eterno Campeon's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Vicente Plata 58 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Quique Angulo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 85thth minute tested the skills of Hernán Justicia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Poulus Robinson managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Eterno Campeon's supporters rose to their feet, but Poulus Robinson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albin Artigas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilson Barnard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Albin Artigas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute Vicente Plata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernán Justicia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Poulus Robinson in the 93rd minute of play forced Cardonal FC's goalkeeper Albin Artigas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 played minutes El Eterno Campeon got a freekick which was hit by Bartolo Sansone. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quique Angulo got free with Hernán Justicia in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
