The supporters of Caspana AFC booed when Dinosaurier was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Lavanderos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Topocho Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matias Murdoch, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Matias Murdoch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Topocho Arce having to interfere. The referee ignored Dinosaurier's protests and gave Quique Barrera a yellow card for diving instead. Marcelo Wilson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliazar Faesch in the 21st minute of the match. Dinosaurier's Topocho Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Murdoch in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Dante Casos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caspana AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dinosaurier the free kick. Dante Casos kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. José Julio Oyarzabal succeeded in the game's 39th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. José Julio Oyarzabal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Marcelo Wilson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Dinosaurier were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Caspana AFC's Matias Murdoch managed to work through Dinosaurier's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Matias Murdoch dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. When Quique Barrera was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. Quique Barrera kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Dinosaurier's zone, Matias Murdoch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Topocho Arce came out of the goal and Matias Murdoch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ervigio Massú sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Dinosaurier's goal looked a bit too open when Ervigio Massú came free, but Topocho Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Topocho Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Murdoch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ervigio Massú couldn't finish the play.
