Calvino Carrión's late challenge caught a Caspana AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Calvino Carrión helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th minute, Calvino Carrión hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Armijo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Israel Malherbe's shot from long distance in the 10th minute was not bad at all, but Cherquenco's Teodosio Jodar knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. 11 minutes into the match, Cherquenco's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Murdoch came free, but Teodosio Jodar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alvar Giron came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Cherquenco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvar Giron couldn't finish the play. 14 minutes into the game, Alvar Giron cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Marcelo Wilson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Cherquenco getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Roberto Wittig hit a great ball. Teodosio Jodar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Murdoch in the 24th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Ervigio Massú managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caspana AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ervigio Massú was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodosio Jodar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matias Murdoch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Cerilo Quiñones hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Matias Murdoch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Caspana AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Teodosio Jodar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ervigio Massú in the 37th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matias Murdoch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ervigio Massú managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caspana AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ervigio Massú was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodosio Jodar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Cherquenco's Cerilo Quiñones got a free kick in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Caspana AFC's zone, Alvar Giron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Wilson came out of the goal and Alvar Giron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Ervigio Massú managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caspana AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ervigio Massú was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodosio Jodar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ofelio Carvajal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ofelio Carvajal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelo Wilson having to make a save. Marcelo Wilson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ofelio Carvajal in the 74th minute of play. After 78 minutes of play, Caspana AFC's Ervigio Massú made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teodosio Jodar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ervigio Massú in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodosio Jodar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 83rdth minute of the game Ervigio Massú who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cherquenco's Teodosio Jodar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Ervigio Massú had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 90 minutes, Matias Murdoch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caspana AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Murdoch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
